Default differences beetwen birdcage 73 to 75.

Hi. I present my name is rafael and I speak to you from Spain with the translator of google so I feel if I write something wrong, since my English is not very good. I am restoring a corvette from the year 1975. I bought my entire project, and they gave me a second corvette at the same price. this corvette was a sinister of the year 1973 without motor. now investigating different owners, source and others it turns out that the 73 here in Europe is highly valued. I had a 454 engine, compared to 350 for my 75. My idea is to get both of them to work. I have already repaired the chassis but the bird cage is different in the holes, just like the measures of the frame. I wanted to have taken references from 75 to repair the 73, but I can not find the real difference of the frame in any place. Anyone got any ideas?

I was looking at your other thread and this car has been stripped down to the bare cage , are you still looking for measurements now?

I always thought the coupes were all the same birdcage , with the exception of (optional ? ) above head seat belt mounts in the early cars . dash board support mount holes being removed and the big change was the lower windscreen outer panel shape (wiper door to no wiper door mounts ).
In that regard I know 74 sill panels do fit well onto a 69 cage .

from what I can see on the other thread , you have a huge task going on , but you have made great progress

Here's some pics of a '72-'74 birdcage. I'm not sure what changed in '75.

Hi. thanks. in the specifications of chassis of 73 is smaller the distance between bolts of the front pillars than in 75. I would like to know if that distance of more is between pillars, or it is only the holes that are more towards the outside in the 75. a this i mean

Hi, there are also some height differences at the 2nd and 3rd mounting points, if you look at the side elevations of that drawing.

yes, but it may be because of the chassis nut cages that are different in both years

thanks

you know you can easily see the difference on the cage nuts in person , the later ones (lower) had one side that hung over the side of the frame . The earlier cages were welded to the top of frame .
