The surgery was three weeks ago.
I saw my doc yesterday. He cleared me to drive finally. I've been letting people drive me around in my C3. It's a boring existence so far. I can't bend, lift, twist, etc. I'm still wearing a back brace for three more weeks.
I've been doing great so far. I have to walk twice a day. My doctor wants me to work up to 10000 steps a day. I'm only at 600 a day now.
I can't wait to work on that car again.
Happy Motoring

I'm about to partake on your journey. My stenosis has finally got to the point where I have to take care of it. Sucks, I just bought a new GS vert in Oct and it's winter here. Can't wait to get it over with. Looks like my boat will be staying on dry land next summer too.

I have had 2 back surgeries, one 25 yrs ago or so, the other 6 weeks ago. I am lucky in that both were successful ( 2 different vertebrae). Muscles in the leg are a little weak but on the mend. But you need to appreciate how things have changed. 25 yrs or so ago, 30 days in bed, the next 30 days you could sit up for an hour or two before you had to go back to bed, and the last 30 days were for therapy. ANd the only thing on tv at the time was the OJ SImpson trial. I shudder every time I see a white bronco. Hang in there, it will get better.

It will be 5 weeks this Thursday since the surgery. I've been trying to walk a lot but the weather outside isn't cooperating today.
The new technology has shortened any recovery time for back surgery patients. I'm feeling better everyday. Some days I over do it and get sore. My wife reinstalled my interior door panels as I supervised. Of course I got involved in it too.
My doctor says that I can take my brace off at 6 weeks. I can SLOWLY start doing things again.
Thanks for checking up on me fellow members. Everyone have a Merry Christmas!
Happy Motoring,
Craig

I was in a bad accident in 2011, was out for almost 12 months.
Follow the rehab and physical therapy - it's important.
I did and recovered very nicely, still have a few issues, but in general I'm ok.
You sound like you will have a great outcome. Thankfully.
Have a great Christmas and great holidays.

Glad to hear you are recovering well and back on the road!
I remember when my mother had a back operation back in the early 60's. She came home in a full body cast. My how technology has changed our lives for the better!
Great to see you will be able to enjoy your Holidays!
Merry Christmas Street Rat!

Hello again members. Today is six weeks since my surgery. I can begin to start working on things again. Gradually the doc says.
I've been bottled up here for a week while it rains and freezes outside. I'm tired of these four walls. I can't imagine what you poor guys are enduring up north.
I'm doing great and plan on doing some front brake work soon. I purchased some new calipers and a prop valve for my brake system.
As I heal more I have to crawl under my Vette and install an exhaust system too. It's been waiting on me since October.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas celebration.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
Craig

Another surgery! An update
I just had another surgery this week. L4 L5 fusion.
I had a piece of bone that had fractured after the last surgery.
The doctor went in through my left side to get to the fracture.
Then the back to do the fusion.
I feel really good. My pain is at about a 3 out of 10.
I can't do any bending, twisting, etc.
The doctor says I'm to recover for at least 90 days prior to doing anything related to cars.
I'm going f'n crazy.

I just had some lower back surgery last Thursday. It seems that I am dreaming up all kinds of projects that I can't physically do yet. The house, cars, Vette, you name it.
I can't drive for six weeks. I had my wife get me out for a cruise yesterday. The restrictions will come to pass in six weeks they say. But getting there is going to be a challenge. There is only so much social media that I can take.
SO MUCH TO GET DONE!

Follow the Doctor's orders for your sake!
I started working on the to-do list too soon. I had ZERO spine pain before using my back. Even though I NEVER lifted anything over 10 lbs. just the bending over to pick up tools/etc. was enough to irritate the surgery.
Now I wish I would have stayed indoors for 90 days to recover!

I'm already going through Summit Invoices
Thanks for the kind words. I had already tried injections. They worked well for about 6 weeks. My back problem is structural so I had the surgeries.
Great advice on taking it easy!
You guys go enjoy those Corvettes for me...
good luck on your recovery sir!Back pain is certainly not fun.I had stem cell injections done in September on L4 L5 L3 L2 and T9 T10 for stenosis that I have suffered with for years. However,I got a staph infection from one of the injection spots and it seems to have ruined the whole procedure.Give yourself lots of time on the recovery and take it slow and easy.Again Good Luck to you and best wishes!
