Who drives your corvette?
I let my brother Drive my car today thanksgiving, I'll get back to that story.
Mainly No one drives my car except me even my wife doesn't drive it for her fear of an accident.
I let my 18 year son drive a couple years ago so I could teach him how to drive a manual shift, I was with him each time and oh yeah he did well. End of story. Now back to my brother.
So my brother came over for thanksgiving he realized his daughter left her meds home. He asked me if we could take the corvette so I said yes. Pulled the vette out of the garage and realized I heard him wrong he wanted to drive so I said ok again because I trust him almost more than I trust myself and I figured he would give me a report on how the car drives. I noticed his daughter was outside with us and was getting in the passenger side . As we all know this is a two seater car now I realized I missed even more than I thought. Now this is when the nerves began to kick in. As they drive away in my mind I had already calculated the return time to be expected. It was now time for a drink. 25 minutes began to be very long time. Then the phone rang... it was him... i have to admit at this point time stopped. To my relief it was only because the car would not start as he was not pushing the clutch down hard enough. He returned to my home without farther issues. All is well except for my nerves, time for another drink, this one should go down a bit slower.
A thought I would share that story as I'm sure I am not alone with those feelings.
Hopefully if someone drives your vette your story will end just as well.

Nobody until this week. I had back surgery last week and can’t drive. BUT my wife and son sure can.
We have been blessed with great weather here. I needed a C3 fix. So I actually let my son and wife take me out driving around.
I think it blew their mind that I let them drive it.

had c5z , c6z and 2 c7s. Pretty much will only let myself and my 3 best friends drive it as were all mechanics and have fast cars/trucks understand and respect the power. plus end of day its a car with full coverage.

Just me. I'd like my husband to drive it but he refuses because he doesn't want to have an accident with it. Kind of annoying for me as sometimes when he's working outside in the early morning he gets me out of bed to move it instead of doing it himself.
I'd let anyone drive it except a person used to driving a newer car with all those automated driver assist things like blind spot monitoring, lane assist, automatic braking, etc. I figure they're a danger in any car that doesn't have all that jazz.

I almost feel the same, to a big degree,
I have no siblings, just my wife tina my step daughter,
I will likely push tina to drive it more,
I have step family from dads marrage but they are in there 60s 70s up and step brother has a c5,
Thats Robert, he isnt the type to ask but i wouldnt think twice to let him drive it
Roberts they type guy that if anything happened he would go 10 fold to make it better, even if it took buying me a whole other car,
My step daughter has wrecked cars, i might let her drive it with me or tina but not alone not because of the car getting hurt i wouldnt want her to get hurt and no way she could handle the 454 engine,
I had in 89 a show queen wide body and fear of damage took all the fun out of it,
These are just cars, even if they are more to some people, cars are made to be driven,
Stored in a garage is boring....

Me mostly. Wife is more than competent to drive it but she does'nt want to be the one driving it if something happens. Every now and then after an outing she will ask me to pull over at the edge of town so she can drive through town...in case some her friends might see her. ...
she drives the C5 whenever she wants...

It's only a car??? Then maybe you should get a KIA! LOL! I'm the only one who's driven my '72 for the last 43 years. When I'm gone, I don't give a rat's a** who drives it but until then it's me or no one.

Safety Car
My wife, my kids (19 & 21) and my dad (77) have all driven my Corvette. If it breaks I'll fix it and if they wreck it I have great insurance. In the end it's just an old car that's ment to be enjoyed. YMMV

I asked her:
She said she values her life... + she cannot drive a stick.
She does drive my vintage truck - but only when she has to - said it's too tempting to drive through the new plastic cars...
She is a great lady....

A kia is only a car too, i dont want a kia if i did i would buy one,
If a c3 is more than a car what more is it?
I am not talking some esoteric way it makes a person feel or what it represents to them,
And i swear im not being a jerk,
But i have never seen any car i have owned as more than a car....
