That may be as close to a hopeless case that I've ever seen. Aside from everything else, I think the drivers door skin fell off rather than the door coming off at the pillar. Might as well have a tree growing in the engine compartment.
Maybe not even a parts car but someone will buy it and play with it for 10 years and get nowhere

I doubt it's worth 500 even for parts. About zero chance you could restore that at this point. Sad...
not without swapping bird cages, frame and just about any other metal part from a donor car. I enjoy restoring cars and say all can be saved but this one is beyond that point. would make good lawn art
Grab that free 73 body out of my neighbor's yard. Find a good frame. Then start rehabbing the engine-Trans and weld in a 2 inch piece of the windshield frame that happens to have a Vin tag on it. Only way it is doable. Anybody know where this thing is?
What would random good condition 69 corvette be worth if this, assuming its got its matching numbers drivetrain in repairable condition, were swapped in. I could definitely see someone trying to sell that as an original car.

I never could understand why people let these cars rot away with no protection from the elements I bet the drive train could be rebuilt & installed in another car or sold as a numbers matching unit. That was a top performer back in the day for sure

I see a decent amount of money in a parts car. Just the intake manifold alone could be $1000-1500 if undamaged. Its aluminum so it will clean up. The seats could sell for $400 just for the frames and rails. The hood, $500. Headlight mechanisms a few hundred. Maybe original seat belts. I see what looks like an original alternator. That's BIG money, maybe $500 in current condition, maybe more. Original radiator.
Still lots more parts with potential. Lots more.
To restore? Not worth it unless you have nothing else to do in life.

I doubt too many people plan to abandon these out in the elements. Sometimes people get a deal that they can't resist and then don't have the means to repair them. Sometimes life just gets in the way. What I find really interesting is that when the owner of a car like this, sitting in an open field, get approached by potential buyers, they always seem to want NOS money. Almost like they can't see it for what it has become. Wouldn't surprise me if this one is being sold by an estate rather than the previous owner.

There are many valuable parts on that car, especially the drivetrain, and I have seen worse cars restored!
Just noticed, it also appears to be an original sidepipe car. It also looks like the front fenders are flared but not the rears. Can anyone tell if it is an L68 or an L71? The ad states it has 4:11 rear gears, and I believe that only the L71 came from the factory with that ratio, but I could be wrong.
So sad and wrong to see such a nice car end up like this.
Looks like oval port not rectangle intake. But near impossible to be sure with all the mulch on top of the engine. You would have thought they would have at least taken a leaf blower to it before they started taking pictures.
