A nice convertible C3 of any year for that price is getting hard to find, especially a 4 speed car.
The 74 is a nice year. It has the clean front bumper, no bumperettes. I put a 73/74 front bumper on my 75 Vert. I can see someone put an 80/82 rear bumper on it also. This is what I've done with my 75 also. Mine is also black, so this car is looking pretty good to me.
As others have said, read the 10 rules of buying a C3. Rust is the biggest enemy of these cars. Even on a car that seems to look and drive good, it can have hidden problems. It is 43 model years old, so expect that anything rubber is shot, unless it's been replaced. Engine, trans, differential, clutch, etc... could all be worn and soon need rebuilding, but that's just part of the deal with old cars.
If it checks out and you buy it, it will be fun to drive and fun making it your car.

It's difficult, but temper the excitement of searching for a corvette by narrowing down your search. Coupe or vert? Auto or manual? Acceptable year(s)?
Good luck.

It looks like an 81 to me. What year did they say it was?

I'm really drawn to the 1980-82 body style.. was thinking '80 would be better with no computer but, I can always remove the comp if I want. Staying away from the '82 crossfire

Look underneath for rust/road salt.
Pull a kick panel and look for signs of water.
If its as good underneath as inside, you won't get hurt.
Mileage?
It appears the computer may be disconnected.
Someone has spliced a connection on the pass side. A common cure for a bad plug.
I see the EGR relay, so most of its there.
The dizzy shield is gone, and an accel cap is on it, so, needs further looks.

I just noticed the smog pump and diverter valve are gone. Not a big deal if you don't need to smog it. It would not pass visual in Kalifornia.

Take your time! Check out The Corvette Ben Channel on Youtube...He takes basket cases and turns them into money. Its a step by step of what to look and look out for! I waited until I found my perfect car . I wanted a white with red interior 1977 and it found me 8 yrs ago !~ Good luck hunting!

Looks like a lot of something for $6,500. As others have said...if it looks decent underneath, that's probably a pretty solid buy.
If it looks like it got pulled from the bottom of the ocean (everything has a layer of rust), I probably wouldn't mess with it. If the engine bay is any indication, though, I think you'll be OK.
That's definitely one of the better looking cars I've seen, electrical bubba-zation aside.
