That's not it that is the choke pull off, Solenoid is on the drivers side with a wire going to it

Sorry, I don't know a solenoid from a muffler bearing! My mechanical skills are limited to writing checks to someone who knows what they are doing!

Here's a pic of the right side. Nothing that looks like a solenoid to me. Is there supposed to be, and, if so, what does it do?

After doing a little research,I found a guy on eBay selling exact reproductions of the bracket for $500. Apparently, originals are like the Holy Grail. Since I never plan to have the car judged and it runs extremely well, think i’d rather spend that on new carpet.

Ken, The wire that went to the solenoid must be tucked away up against there firewall someplace.

That is called a choke pull-off yes the center carb should have one it opens the choke with vacuum until the engine warms up, so it will fast idle.
