My husband went into Canadian Tire once and asked for a metric crescent wrench. The employee put in a call to ask where they were kept.

There is a metric wench, I used to make money on this. I learned it from a tool supply salesman/machinist supply house.

It's the length of the handle on the adjustable wrench (10" vs 25.4)

At least he didn't ask the kid for the wooden welding rods, or as we did send him for a bucket of steam....

Have a great NEW YEAR.... it's cold here (10F) , it has to be really cold where you are....

Hmmm-

Take two pieces of metal and slide them together-

Then take the two pieces of metal put toothpaste or valve grinding paste between - try to slide.

If nothing changes let me know.

Tried it, it seems you are correct. Toothpaste (Close Up, for the record), between two pieces of flat stainless, increased the sliding resistance between the samples. I learned something.

I use toothpaste to polish tail light lenses. It has grit in it. Lou
