Does Steel Cities Gray look good with red interior?
Typically I would think a silver or gray car would look great with red interior, but I read somewhere that Steel Cities Gray has a slight green tint to it which might not look good with a bright red interior. Anyone have this color combination? What else would look good with Steel Cities Gray besides black?

It does indeed have a very slight green hue. The bright red interior looks much better with either '70 Cortez silver or '71 Nevada silver. I would think that the '71 dark blue interior or dark green interior would also look good with Steel Cities gray.

There was a thread about this not too long ago.....a member had a red interior and wanted to paint his car SCG. I suggested Laguna Gray instead because of the green tint SCG has at times.
I happen to like my SCG w/black interior.

FYI...
1971 SCG interiors available: Black or Saddle.
1972 SCG interiors available: Black, Saddle and Red.
The red's OK, but IMHO black is really the only color for SCG and I agree that red should work better with silvers. My $0.02.

My 72 was a Steel Cities Gray with saddle on the trim tag and tank sticker. Mille Miglia Red when I bought it and NEVER found any Gray anywhere. Cost me a Gold at Vettefest. I think it was changed on the line. I like the Steel Cities Gray but black would be the only color interior I would want with it.

I have Steel Cities with black & it looks great.
I've seen it with Saddle & liked it, although I'm sure that combo is not for everyone.
Make no mistake though, there is a lot of green in that color.
If you ever saw it next to one of the silvers, you would know what I mean. If your heart is set on a red interior,
I would try & find a way to put some samples together.

Steel Cities is a beautiful color. It has never looked "green" to me and red leather would look terrific with it. Red was one of the GM interior recommendations in '72.

My car was originally white with a red interior. I didnt like the while so I painted it steel cities gray. The car looked great until I pulled it outside and the green tint showed in the sunlight. The car looked like a Christmas tree. Pulled the car back in and painted it black. Dont do it.
