Safety Car
I agree with Richard454.... I can appreciate the time, money, and work that went into the build. I`m a car guy, I know what all that means. I`ve never really been a big pro-street type, although I do like the old gassers. I just don`t think those styles look good on a sports car. I think they are best served on a pony car, or muscle car platform.

I've noticed that it seems to be accepted to "bag" customs like this so when parked they are laying on the ground, but when driving they get raised up for obvious reasons and lose much of the styling. They are designed to look great parked only, not so great at driving height. The Copper Caddy fits into this catagory. Most cars look absolutely ridiculous on big 22's or whatever raised up to driving height.

Safety Car
I think the craftsmanship is very high but it went over the top with the air bags and cartoonish wheels and tires. To me, that just ruined it. Pump up the air bags so you can actually drive it and I bet it looks even worse. Not my cup of tea...

20" Rims on Old Vettes
Wow.....based on comments on this thread, not many of the responders like the "cartoonish" looks of 20" rims on the back of the older Vettes. Thank goodness there are a few of us out there who like to modernize their older Vettes with larger rims not to mention many other upgrades that results in being a fun, fast and safe car to drive! I build Resto Mods as a hobby and I always go with a wheel combo of 18" front / 20" rears (Just my personal favorite look) on resto mods.
What I truly enjoy about the car hobby is keeping an "open mind" about individual tastes and not be too critical about what choices the individuals choose while building their cars to their own "personal" tastes. The main reason I go to car shows is to see the diversity of how cars are being build so I can include some of these "dare to be different ideas" in my next build. I also truly appreciate original cars, but I believe that one of the main objective of our hobby is to get the cars on the road/car shows so the younger generations will see them and just maybe they will be the ones in a few years that will buy our "old cars" once we move on! As you can guess I'm an old guy!
Attached are pictures of my 66 Resto mod with 18/20" rims and my most recent 69 project which will eventually have the same combo of rims installed.

airbags is what turned me off.
why use them?
I see them put in everything on those "car" shows.
where the hell did they put all the gear/ tank, pump?
plus, i don't equate airbags with performance.

Looks like an overpriced paperweight/poser.
I'll pass, thank you. I'll just stick with my manual trans IRS lightweight car that isn't hauling around all that air tank/compressor/9 inch four-link/slushbox nonsense.
As one of the previous posters said, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

So whoever will be in Scottsdale this week and if you see the car, can you take some pics and post them up here please?
I believe in 2010 it sold for 175K at BJ Scottsdale. Have no idea what kind of condition its in 7 years later. The pictures from this auction and 7 years ago are the same exact pictures. Wonder where its been the last 7 years. I still say it brings 185.
If I hadn't just bought my 68 vert restomod (which I love that car ) I'd be all over that "clown car" like a bum on a bologna sammich.

I just grabbed a couple typical responses to the threads car, that i can relate to,
Ive seen the car before and at first thought wow but my excitement drained for i believe the same rasons this car isnt many cats cup o tea,
I am not ignoring the super high level of skills involved and build quailty but seem that saying i dont like it but oh yeah it's built well is just a form of damming thru faint praise,
Doesnt really matter how well its built if i dont like the end result,
No, i dont care for it, if i had to keep it and not change a thing on it i wouldnt take it for free,
I dont like big old status wheels with rubber band tires on classics and i figure this car wiuld have the driving feel of a tubbed 70s camaro so again nothing i want,
There are several members cars i would much rather own,
But i am happy a few people do like it and i hope it finds a new loving home , if its even at a show am haunting i would check it out just like i would check out the corvette summer car. ...

I'm just wondering what the metal inserts are for in the seat bottom cushions. Is that for when you hit the throttle and cr@p your pants?
The fab work on those cars is tremendous!!!

Drifting
Can, and is the car actually driven? Or is it just another Easter Egg that's trailered to "shows" to win plastic trophies? What does it look like with the bags inflated to drive height? Or has it never been driven? If not, what's the point of adding all that "performance" stuff? Help me understand.....

No different than the cars that have been "brought back" to "original condition" and are only driven on judging lanes.
"Plastic trophies" , "points" or "driving like you stole it" -whatever you are into- I can appreciate it!!!
It doesn't look like it's been driven much either @ 141 miles since build...

It never ever ran correctly last i head, i saw it up for sale a few years ago at a price that while a faction of invested was still never gonna happen,
And that seems fitting considering the attitude and arrogance of the builder,
So if an easter egg was meant to run but doesnt does that just make it a rotten egg?
Some guys dont care if they run or drive its just post a pic and yell "look at me, look what i can spend"
