CF across America/Route66 style
Last summer, some of our small So. Cal. group did the full Route 66 trip. We also timed it so we could see the total eclipse in Tenn.
I also had the chance to prove to my friends the 81 could endure the trip with zero issues.
In deciding to be different, this won't be "sights on 66."
This thread will be about the CF members on here, and about visiting them, and drawing the group closer, bringing a face to the name.
First stop, Denver, and the garage of tuning, Lars.
Left to right, Keith, a C3 guy from England that went with us.
John Phil, an old member here and at VM.
The Big Bird.
And far right, Lars, showing us the famous test engine for carb rebuilts
Yes, if he rebuilt your quadrajet, it ran on this test engine.

To the right of Lars, is CorvettesWhite.
He was our team leader, navigator, and my shot gun seat.
The last pic is one of Lars' toys.
More to come.

Next stop, St. Louis, and the infamous BullShark hanger.
We just had lunch, but we stopped again on the way back for a BS BBQ.
SO, there will be more pics later in the trip. Stay tuned........

Unfortunate as it was, the sink hole has done more for attendance than any car ever did.

Eclipse
While based in Bowling Green, we headed done to now where Tenn., to the center of the eclipse. Of course, tin foil hats to prevent aliens sucking our brains out was required.
We also picked up Tim with his beautiful C-1. He would stay with us until Chicago.
The C-5 had a tough time off road. The C-1 and C-3 were fine.

That is GREAT-
Roadtrippin it and hanging out w/ fellow Corvetters.
I look forward to every year when the Wife and I drive a few thousand miles on the Hotrod Power Tour and meet up with several car people.
Thanks for sharing!!!!

So now we head up to Chicago to start the Route66 run. No, we haven't even started yet. On the way to Chicago, we stop in at Mid America Motorworks to visit and chat with the owner.

Just a footnote. Some pics are sideways, and on my computer they are fine. I don't know the cure.

After the meeting, a quick tour of the grounds with the owner, then off to Chicago, to spend the night at Tim's house.
