Default T5 swap. any use for the tilted hyd slave bell?

I now have 3 T5's. 2 old style that need work and I just picked up a 176 tag WC in-I think-nice shape. it came with cross member and the crooked bell housing. is there any advantage to using the tilted bell housing, or is it 10 cents a pound scrap aluminum?

You will still end up making an adapter to fit the stock shift boot location so no work saved. I would toss it myself.

I drove 4 hours for an 89 trans am trans. got there and found it to be 84 v6. oddball 3.5 1st gear. almost usable with a 3.08 rear. 150 bucks. bought it anyway so my 8 hr round trip wasn't for nothing. got home and found front of main shaft beat where the pocket bearings ride. then I found correct nwc core trans 125 plus 70 shipping. gears good, shafts beat. THEN this 176 falls in my lap. dude didn't know what he had. rolls silent. shifts nice. now I gotta decide if I am gonna spend 200 bucks repairing a main shaft and buying input shaft and small parts kit or trying to part out these 2 nwc trannys... I have seen a couple of these tilted bell housings sell on ebay for 100 and 150 bucks, so might as well list it and see...

Great they are getting harder and harder to find, and 176 is he best solution as I see it, if you need the manuel tach, and have 3.70/4.11 rear.
Good luck with your small project

Put the bell on ebay and get back some of your $$$.

You're going to love that T5. Good luck.

From what the people who work on these trays say, there is no read strength different between necessary and wc units. Nice Rd synchros. But no appreciable difference in durability.
