Default looking for pics of raised centre section of std 68 - 72 hood.

Hi, I have looked at a lot of pics looking to see if anyone had done this to a std small block hood rather than change to a big block hood or add a scoop. I need some more clearance but a BB hood is prohibitively expensive here and I don't want to add a scoop, would rather keep the hood as low profile as possible,I'm only looking to gain maybe an inch or so in height. The current configuration has the air cleaner just touching the hood lining with a drop base air filter but I think the engine needs a little more air now with the cam and head changes I made. The manifold is a Weiand street warrior.
I'm open to suggestions, the hood has a crack in the centre section and a few bubbles in the 18 year old paint so I don't have an issue with altering it but want to keep it subtle if at all possible!

Thanks Alan, blending the increase in height by carrying it forward onto the nose section was something I never considered! More food for thought, seems there will be a lot of cardboard mock ups in my future.
