Default Tops Out vs Tops In

I don't enjoy tops in driving very much. Car squeaks more. I'm not a big guy 5'11 185lb but I feel cramped. I even like the look of the car better with the tops out. So in nice weather.....do you like tops in or out or doesn't matter? Convertible guys...Top up or Down?

Top down! Otherwise why have a convertible?

Tops off! I leave home without them. Don’t care if I am going to a cruise night, car show or just going for a ride, I take the t-tops off and leave them home. Only exception is if there is a chance of rain (30% max), I bring them with me. I don’t need A/C!!

I just enjoy fresh air more than anything else so my plan is to drive with the tops out as much as possible. The last convertible that I owned I drove with the top down and the heater on in the upper 40s and low 50s :-p

Nothing quite like the wind in your hair.

Having ridden motorcycles for years often during rain storms, a convertible is a dream. As long as I can drive 50 mph or faster the top never goes up on the Interstate as the rain goes completely over the interior of the car. I have a heater for chilly days and an a/c for traffic jams.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but it's how I roll.

(OOOOOOOPS........I don't qualify/I have only one tops)

I usually only drive mine with the tops off in warm weather, but I've gotten the A/C working, so tops on is now an option. I do prefer the open air when it's not too hot though. That being said, I think my 79 looks better with the tops on.

T-tops off whenever possible, but I will concede that I think my '80 looks best from the outside with tops on...

I've only had the tops off once in the nine years I've had the car - I'm not a fan of having my hair blown into tangles. I just like to look through the glass roof.

On or off, up or down, how anyone drives is a matter of personal choice.

tops off, back removable window OUT. NO radio on, just wind and the wine of the motor to listen(and my wife talking to me). And I have an Astro glass style top to use during the cold weather.

I prefer to have T-tops off. As with Doorgunner, I am a motorcycle guy, and have put 130,000 miles on my Road King with NO WINDSHIELD. Both with the bike and the Vette, I want to be in the wind. Without it, there is something missing in the experience.

My wife has this problem too. She wears a ball cap and pony tail when we cruise.

Anyone have T-Top squeaks with tops in? Maybe I need to lubricate mine cause they chirp alot on uneven roads.

I thought tops go up and down, or on or off
not in or out, just sounds funny

I'm a fresh air guy! I've always either had the tops out, or top down (depending on the car) when I drive.

I have a sunroof in my GMC crew cab. It was 50 here yesterday and I had the roof open.

I love it when they take their tops off. We talking passengers, right?
