The back of the seat damage the back panel
Hi, everyone!!
I have a corvette 454 convertible 1971
The back of the seat hits and marks the back panel as you can see in the photos. It happen in both seats!!
Has anyone had experience in this and was able to solve it?

Put these on my 71 Convertible. Took care of the problem.

I had the same issue with my 71 vert, including damage to the top cover from the seat back release. I am in the middle of a complete restoration and this is what I found.... After the seats, along with the rest of the interior came out I find this....
And...when I took my seats apart, the back of the lower frame was bent/collapsed/broken. So the floor sagged a little and the seat back reclined too much because of the broken seat frame. Both of these caused my problem.
This may not be what you want to hear but.... just my 2cents

Age pushing 74 here, arthritis all to hell, and my '72 vert has the seat lowered by taking off the rear mount tabs, years ago I also cut the firewall from the floor, up to the height of the steering column, pried it forward, and glassed it in...cut/bent the pedals forward about 3" or so....that dropped my knees off the late shark TT wheel that was in there.....I also removed the seat belt cover from under the seat, and used the OEM padding
