I read that of the 2372 L82 optioned 75 Corvettes that 336 of those were convertibles. Is there a published number of the 336 L82 convertibles that were equipped with the M21 4 speed transmission? Thanks in advance.

Short answer is no.

Each of the options have published quantities but you can only extrapolate the combinations like L82 w 4 speed. There is not published numbers of combination. The Corvette Black Book is a great source for the data.

I agree. GM did not keep data on options combinations. IMHO the 336 figure is someone's WAG.

I have a dated letter from GM St. Louis Assembly stating 336 1975 L-82 Corvettes were built out of 2372 L-82 cars.

Steve, in doing my '75 L-82 Survey from years ago, I compiled about 90 cars. Interestingly, of that sampling it was almost a 50/50 split between automatics & 4spds. The M20/M21s also were BorgWarner Super T10s, not Muncie's.

I'll have to see if I can find it. Been a couple of years since I was actively doing my '75 L-82 Survey and it was with all that paperwork.

I came across it because when I was doing my survey, a gentlemen had a '75 L-82 4spd(M-21)convertible Z07 with no A/C and was a radio delete car from Hawaii and sent me EVERY stitch of paperwork for that car. The letter was folded up in that paparework. He contacted GM shortly after the '75 model year asking how many L-82 convertibles were made and that is what they wrote back to him.

The OP is also asking about a M21 transmission, which is about a 3% option in 1975.. rare in my opinion. lots of L82 convertibles, (250-350?) but a lot less of those were M21's.

statistically about 8 total cars.. then factor in the error factor of course.

If you do come across that letter, I would be interested in obtaining a copy. My 75 convertible is an L-82 with 4spd(M-21). Thanks for the info.

The car was advertised as 4000 miles "like new condition”. Unfortunately it was never properly stored and the condition was not stellar.
