Engine Wiring Help
Hey guys I’ve got a few questions as I’ve started to rewire the engine compartment. I have A ‘74 sbc. I will be converting to the sniper efi. And I’m installing vintage air. So I will Ask a few questions with pictures and if you can answer any it will be greatly appreciated.
1. The carb idle solenoid wire. I ran into this wire and I’m pretty sure it’s not needed since Im going to efi. Correct?
2. Tsc temp SW jumper and TCS solenoid . Im not sure where it goes.
3. The blower motor and blower motor ground can be wrapped up in the harness since I am Using the vintage air, or atleast I think so.
I have Dual spal electric fans. Does anyone know where that orange masterpiece of a wire is supposed to go? Or how I can clean it up and do it the right way?
How do I replace the wiring here with the wiring below? Without cutting up the harness if possible.
As I was Plugging in the harness. This wire fell out. It’s the brake warning switch. Is this wire important? And what would the proper procedure be for replacing or fixing it. I wasnt Planning on replacing the headlamp harness right now but if I need To I will.
That’s it for now!

Hi jp,
I'll take the easy one...the last one....
There's a pressure switch on the brake distribution block that compares the pressure in the front and rear brake systems (they're separate).
When there's a difference in pressure between the 2 the switch illuminates the brake warning light on the dash.
"Is it important".... I guess that's for you to decide.
My bet is that if you unwrap the harness a little you'll see the wire that was cut or broken. Whether it will work...???
Here's the switch and connection with the rubber boot on a 71.
Regards,
Alan

Picture #2 is the starter interlock relay.
You can wire it as stock or bypass it.
Another bypass option:
About that BROWN ground wire.
It serves two functions.
Your parking brake light will go on if you pull up the parking brake handle or if the brakes need attention.
Reconnect where Alan 71 shows.

About the black ground wire, STOCK, that wire is the ground for the wiper motor and the fan motor and ends up down by the starter but attached to a bell housing bolt.
How does VA supply power and GROUND to them?

Thank you for the replies. I havent gotten to the wiring of vintage air. It completely deletes the factory harness. It will be something else I’ll run into in a few weeks.

This is how I wired my two fans. Two 12 ga wires from starter lug fused. On the low current side I used a 12 v switched source and the ground was thermostat sending unit. That was also fused. I hope this drawing makes sense to you.
