If directed at me Please do not misinterpret what i posted,
I didnt say anyone was pushing him to come back i feel in general the thread has gotten pushy,

it also seems no one really knows him and he might not like so much spotlight...who knows. perhaps he will love it,

Someone posted he private replied to them like a week ago,
So he is still kicking and isnt here replying for his own personal reasons,

Maybe the guy finally got tired of spending or wasting, depending how you look at it, this much of his life answering basically the same questions over and over. For Christ sake, he's got like 27 thousand replies that can be accessed in the archives. I'm getting burnt out just thinking about it. For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would want to do it. I would be thinking what I could have done with all that time.

I believe Alan enjoys helping others any way he can.
During his time on the forum he has helped literally thousands of people by answering questions and posting photographs.
I'm sure he enjoyed every moment he did so.
If there were more people like Alan, the world would be a better place.

You are only seeing it from your viewpoint,
And ive been there.

For example in the over 20 years ive been on the net ive haunted a lot of forums, worked for some even owned some,
People come to forums for different reasons,
If im here a lot be sure im not feeling well if im gone i feel better and im out doing something i like doing better,
Cars are far from my only interest or hobby.

I still receive email questions from people relating to my old forums,
Sure questions get repeated, but i dont mind helping a guy out.
But on the other side i have email buddies who dont post here much if any saying the same thing you did, same questions over and over get boring to them.

I really do not know alan but i do know he has more passion in what he has done than most people here combined,
I know if he has posted 27k replies then he likely helped a hell of a lot more than 100k problems.

I see posts where he doesnt meet up for drinks or a guy complained alan doesnt post "thanks" to members on here, perhaps he doesnt like closer personal kinship of the hobby or he didnt find anything worth his thanks, who cares? Doesnt matter, the end result does.

You will not find a nicer 71 base model anywhere, period,
The time and hard work and money invested are overwhelming for me to even think much about it, man i would love to see the outtakes, alan all dirty, greasy doing the work to get that car that breath taking.

I believe the man likes to help, and perhaps liked to show off his hard work, but i never saw him as a "look at me, my build" attention junkie needing ego stroking type in fact he seems very modest and low key considering his build and the help he gives,
Which i do call his car a museum piece out of respect that his 71 is no longer simply just a car.

What you see as wasting time perhaps alan and guys like him see as a major part of their life,

I hope he is well, since he hit someone in private a week ago it appears he is so i will respect that he is taking time away its his choice if he returns or not we need to respect that, but calling what he did here a waste of time is unfair and very wrong.

I would certainly pay for a quality book of all Alan’s images for reference.

....or a digital version that is searchable, even better.

hope he returns soon, have always appreciated all his comments and suggestions.

Is it possible, and this is just a thought, that Alan hasn't responded because he doesn't understand what the question is in the title of this thread? Maybe if it said "Where are you" he would comment. As it is, maybe he thinks you just forgot the apostrophe in "we're" and are therefore stating "Alan, we ARE you" which would inevitablely scare him away. Or at least it would scare me if I were him! All I'm saying is, improper spelling is the reason Alan hasn't commented.

I think you need a moderator to edit a thread title.
