I'm more of a Motor guy, I've got a bucket list of them to someday own. My Neighbor had one of my list Motors, it was a 427 3x2 in a 68 Vert so i couldn't pass up the opportunity. I do love the C3 Chrome Bumper Cars, but it was the Engine that reeled me in. If someone gave me Ford 427 SOHC (bucket list item) I'd try to put it in the Vert, so maybe I'm really a Hot Rodder.

Excellent! So full-speed ahead with the suspension mods. And to the right, and the left. Serpentine!
Clearly I'm a lawn tractor enthusiast, though. I've gotten the front wheels off the ground with a stock Craftsman mower (not a good feeling). That John Deere clearly needs a wheelie bar more than it needs a spoiler!

Many of you put yourselves in the "in between" category, or "neither" or "both" to some degree. For me, if you are a true hotrodder, you have the "need for speed", which supersedes all other enjoyment of the car. It doesn't matter what model you have, only 500+ HP or 10 sec. 1/4 mile will do! Given the choice, the slightly(?) modified car is always the choice over a pristine but slow stock car. For the speedster, stock is only a baseline.
Now, flip the coin, and the pure enthusiast will always choose the pristine stock car over any quick modified one. Their slight modifications tend to run toward comfort, handling, and smooth running.
For me, I appreciate both, but I've got to have speed!

Hot Rodder here. I've built hot cars, boats, motorcycles and jeeps since I was able to hold a wrench. My dad knew I was destined to be one when he came home from work and I had the lawn mower taken apart trying to make give it more power to go faster to get the job done quicker.
My 73 big block will look stock but any thing else will be pure muscle.

I guess enthusiast. I couldn’t care less how fast any of my cars are. My first was a big block ‘65 and I bought it because it was the only one I could afford in 1977. I love Corvettes because of they way they look and how it feels to drive them in that stylish cockpit, which is why I don’t care for modified cars. After 17 Corvettes my purchase choices have always been about the visual aspects of the car, regardless of the year or model.
After choosing the year and body style of the 2 I have now, it was all about... color.

When I bought my first Corvette in 1974, I was an enthusiast. Loved driving my '69 350/350 4 speed coupe.
Fast forward to 2018 and now I'm just an old man with a '71 4 speed LS5 Corvette Convertible that I don't need to drive or want to drive.

How much do you want for it?
If you really don't want to drive it.

Sad state of affairs when you own a beautiful machine such as yours and you have no interest in driving it. I feel sympathy for you. Without driving the car, I have zero interest in owning it.

Ill excercise it for ya!
Sometimes the full blown fever can disappear but you just like having it.
Insure it well and make use of it, its just a car at the end of the day, nuts and bolts

Fine art is the creation of the artist, who made the art piece to be viewed, either in a museum or out in the world.
Never to be locked away in a vault where it can never be enjoyed.
Whether you own a museum piece or a driver, it's your choice how you enjoy it.
If it's a trailer queen, show it.
If it's a driver, drive it, but please allow all to see and enjoy a classic Corvette.
If you don't enjoy owning a classic Corvette maybe it is time to let it go and find something to replace it.

just a hot rodder/racer that always wanted a stingray with side pipes. I planned on a stock appearing '74 with a "worked" power train. I appreciate the level of correctness that the collectors strive for but in the end I feel they give up enjoying the car for what it is ,a car. they treat them more like a trophy to be looked at and not used, but thats why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream...everyone has different taste's.
