Default ‘72 Coupe on EBay. Hood and Stripe Question

Hey guys/gals,
I’m still researching and learning the C3’s. I’ve never seen this type of hood or rear deck lid stripe before. Were either of these options on the 1972 Coupe? Thanks for any input!

Hi Jstan, I am not an expert but I have not seen any stock cars with that stripe, and it looks like someone added a “stinger” hood scoop from the earlier (c2, I think ‘67) cars onto the big block hood. Kinda cool but not stock.
Regards, Chris

Yeah, the 67 427 scoop on a 68 to 72 lt1 bb hood, not stock lots of people did it then motion made it famous,

The stripe with 454 is a rip too from motion styling,

Seems the builder wanted motion vibe but not a direct clone

Google motion corvettes....

Thanks The13Bats. That’s why I asked here. I’ve never heard of Baldwin Motion either. Seems I learn something new about these cars every day.

The hood scoop looks like a Jr. High School project gone bad but I like the rear stripe treatment.

I sold a hood like that on ebay for $2200.

Both aftermarket/custom

Hood scoop looks like a baldwin-motion clone on a lt1/454 hood rather than a l88. I believe someone was making them at one point. Kind of busy for my taste

I do like the rear stripe though
