72 LT-1 43,200 miles. A little detailing of the motor compartment. NCRS 2 time Top Flight.

Were the 72 smog pump fans black? My 71 LT 1 has original smog pump, fan is off white.

read in the restoration books,
white opaque plastic was used in early 1972 production, late production used the black plastic with square fins at the front.

Mine is the next to the last day of production, July 18, 1972, which would have the black fan.

Here's an original April 12th, 1972 pump with the square edge fan. I like the look of the square air cleaner element, but diagonal is correct.
