If it's the book with the green cover, printed by Helm in Detroit MI, it is about the best service manual you can get for a 77. In some years the Corvette had it's own dedicated shop manual, and these were even better, but for 77 Corvettes, the Helm full line book is the best thing available.

If Bubba has fooled with your car, you need the Assembly Manual to put it back together correctly.

Yes, you really should have a 77 Assembly Manual too. The Assembly Manual includes exploded drawings of every part of the car that was assembled at St. Louis. There are no written instructions, just drawings with part numbers and dimensions, but the illustrations are often more helpful than written instructions.

Things that were assembled elsewhere, and delivered to St. Louis, such as the engine, aren't shown in exploded form, but the installation of the carb, distributor, water pump, etc are all shown, because they were installed at St. Louis.

I have the 1977 Assembly Manual disc version from Corvette America and it's pretty bad--copy of a copy of a copy. Some pages are OK; others are marginally readable. The HUGE non moveable CA logo is on every page and sometimes covers up important parts of the drawing. The manual is overall irritating and overpriced but better than nothing.

If you have electrical problems, I can recommend the 1977 Corvette Electrical Troubleshooting Manual --an excellent GM publication that frequently shows up on eBay. Big, in color, heavy paper, easy to follow. It does not contain a wiring diagram of the entire car. For that, I recommend a color laminated companion from www.ClassicCarWiring.com.
