72 dark tan interior, what color outside
Folks, rebuilt 72 454, now I'm ready for paint, I do not think keeping it original color like my 58 is important (may be wrong), it was a yellow sort of color, it has the dark tan interior(optional) all new stuff. so what is the best color to paint? red is nice but I'm 70 years old, dark blue may not match the interior, olive green may not be good for resale, so what color is yours and are you happy with your choice?

The only "recommended" interiors with either of "yellows" was saddle and black.
Personally I like both War Bonnet and Sunflower, but then I'm a fan of any bright color. Yellow, red, and orange all look good to me.

If the original color was War Bonnet Yellow (code 989) and your car is kept in [basically] original condition, your best choice would be to go back with the original color--unless you just don't like it.
If you change, Ontario Orange Firemist (my 2nd choice) or Elkhart Green would be good choices with the dark saddle interior.
Lastly, if you decide to change the exterior color, you should know that you could also change the interior color with not that much effort and very little extra cost....especially if the seats are vinyl instead of leather.

You could also go Steel Cities Grey, which is another 1972 color.
