That is some nice work!
I like the SPI products as well.
How difficult was spraying the rear deck area around the rear glass?? Technique tips??

It was the hardest part i believe.. i'm 6'-1 and had to lean far far in it was so difficult that while cutting i noticed i had a few small thin spots i could see through.
I decided they were so small i could live with them. Then the sun came out so i parked in the 90 deg weather, thats when the small bubble appeared on the rear drivers side right in front of the spoiler.
Thats when i remembered that large sweat bead that dripped off my arm....i thought it missed the car but apparetly not. So i need to repaint the rear half.
Tips? I can only say its so hard make sure 1) you get enough paint on it to cut it 2) dont sweat on it!! Thanks

Wow, that looks familiar. I finally did my '68 in my garage just like that (disassembled) after 3 years of work. It looked like the "before wet-sanding" picture of your door and I wanted to kick myself for thinking I could do it. Then I spent a few dozen hours sanding, compounding, polishing, and waxing and it is absolutely gorgeous - just like yours is going to be once its put together. Nothing beats the satisfaction of taking something ugly and making it turn every head. Very nice!

Just wow, love the color, and it's starting to come together, to hit the roads shortly.

Really coming along nicely. I will also be getting ready to put the 71 under color soon. Plenty of taping and paper to get it looking good. Very rewarding!

I have been using SPI products for years now. Never had an issue and always top quality stuff. Did you use the universal clear?

no clear single stage. The spi is good stuff. The problem was a big drop of sweat I though misssed the car and must have painted over it. My bad, but I’m new at this! Lol
had some small primer nibs come through while color sanding. My bad again got missing them before spraying color. Anyway is there a way to repair them? Perfectly smooth with color.

Because you used single stage you have to sand the whole section and respray with the color. If you had done Base Coat Clear Coat you could blow in the spot with the color and then clear the whole panel. Either way the whole panel has to be painted. They have stuff to blend it together but I don't like playing with that stuff. I would repair the problems. I would want my car to be as perfect as I could get it. It may be more time and money but in the end it is well worth it.
