Default I’m a C3 guy now. Forget this euro crap.

Not entirely true lol. My uncles 75 coupe I acquired a few months back after he owned it 43 years was direct from left field. I’ve had a ball making it into what I want and am looking forward to taking him for a spin at his yearly party on the 4th.

My other “toy” car is on the block. Up for auction on Bring a Trailer. I’ve owned this silly thing since 2012 and it was a lot of fun/pain/suffering to wake it up from slumber and get it sorted.

In truth the sale of this car has nothing to do wih my C3 surprise. It’s just strange how when one leaves the next one walks in the door.

Auction is all done tomorrow at 11 am Pacific. Might be a real nail biter at the end with “overtime”. Or it may be a snooze fest. Lots of nice pics courtesy my friends in Portland as well as 2 humorous vids.

Generally no, but I'll give you that, that is a nice shade of green.

It's a cool Porsche, hopefully it meets reserve and then some! BaT is kinda weird sometimes....I listed my mint low-mileage '84 Turbo there and it didn't come close to meeting (my reasonable) reserve. It sold for full asking price on eBay 2 weeks later. Weird.

Anywho, glad that you're having fun with the C3, they are so easy to work on. Gotta love them!

I saw this on BaT the other day and thought, "This screams 1976 cocaine money like nothing I've ever seen." The fact it's close to $100k with most of a day left speaks to the popularity of anything classic 911 right now.

No offense, but a dead stock 911 Turbo to me is a more desirable car, it says classic, this one says says turn up the white snake and pass the cocaine. However, I do appreciate all the work put into this car and apparently so do the bidders. Put 10 grand of it into the C3 and buy Costco stock with the rest. One of my biggest regrets in life was selling my '66 912. There was nothing like charging through the canyons in that old car. Best of luck, more power to ya.

It takes a lot more to offend me than sharing your opinion about my car lol. No worries.

I’ve had my share of early air cooled Porsches also. The C3 reminds me of them in certain ways. Others not so much 😆

The C3 sucked up $10k a while back and didn’t stop there haha. Coscto stock that’s a swell idea thanks!

There isn’t a Corvette made that I would rather have than that 911. That is an awesome car. Good luck with the sale!

Default a couple pics of my C3

It’s been a busy 4 months. Gotti J55A 16” 3-piece hoops, New ZZ6 crate, pypes exh, flowtech headers, L88 hood, pretend 1968 bumper, Tremec 5 speed, sharkbite rear susp, front coilovers, new poly bushings, spreader bar, new brakes, new lines, new wheel bearings... I can go on. Basically I changed everything.

It’s going to look a lot different in here. New seats new carpet new steering wheel etc in the works.

The 1981 jdm Toyota Starlet in the background donated a bracket so my faux 68 bumper could be nice and sturdy.

Ready to take my uncle for a ride on the 4th.

Out for sushi in Ballard.

My uncle Tony dreamed of a car like this while flying around in a Huey some 50 years ago. He ordered this car new the very day Nixon resigned. 43 years later I proudly received the keys.

Sorry to see the Kremer didn't sell on BaT. Not surprised though, BaT is great for run of the mill Porsches. Outliers don't seem to do well there. Try Pelican's website?

Default those cheeky brits!

Tried Bring a Trailer last summer and that was a fail. After much back/forth my car was accepted to the RM Sotheby's event at The Petersen Automotive Museum held 12/8/18. I must say these folks know what they're doing.

Congrats on the C3. I must admit, I was close to purchasing a 2000 911 before buying my Corvette.
I found a 911 that was affordable and maintained by the previous owner. He had it since 2009.
He also had maintenance receipts totaling $43K worth of work.
After thinking about that figure for a little bit, I decided that a Porsche was not the car for me.
A few months later, I purchased my 72 C3 coupe and couldn't be happier.
Keep us posted on your progress with your car.
