Default Our chassis car build for Carlisle. AKA 'Vette Karts rule!!!

Wow, you look back and suddenly realize it has been 5 years since your last post…. Well time flies and so do Corvettes. Many of you know our chassis car, the 1975 C3 L48 that we stripped the body off of and painstakingly restored to a running driving vehicle minus the body. Well that was done in 2006, and outside of Carlisle’s burnout competition it has pretty much served as a show piece and reference for those that stop by our PA showroom. Late last year we started brainstorming on a way to use that chassis again, not as a stale museum piece but to show what could be done to a great generation of Corvettes when great companies got together. We partnered with Detroit Speed for our suspension/headlight conversion, Ididit for our column, Baer for our brakes, Forgeline for our wheels, and BFG for our Tires. The interior was all us, of course, and features our soon to be released C5 seat conversion mounts that promise to add modern flair to all C3’s.

The whole idea of this post is to show our community the behind the scenes of what we are doing to get ready for the largest Corvette event of the year. So, we hope you will enjoy this post for the next few weeks as we get the chassis ready for display in our tent at Carlisle on the Manufactures Midway. We figure if you are the sponsor of the show you should probably bring one of the coolest cars there!!!!

So, with out further rambling here are a bunch of pictures!!!!

The Completed Chassis.

The chassis during the build, earlier this year.

The tear down started with a small tweak.... of the body off the frame.

the stripped frame awaiting the blessing of Detroit Speed chassis goodness.

the new A-arms and suspension installed

If you can peak past the gorgeous DSE knuckles you will also see a rack and pinion steering and beefy sway bar installed.

Yep they are Gorgeous

Forgeline wheels wrapped in BFG's rubber give it the perfect finish.

Our little was almost finished, now we get to move on to the inside.

I know right?? We definitely went back and forth on that, but ended up deciding to fuel inject the factory setup. We were trying to keep this a very "bolt on" style project, something that anyone could do on a weekend for every phase of this build.

As a visual learner myself I cannot tell you how valuable seeing something like this in person can be in educating and assisting in building and restoring these cars. Thank you for doing it, thank you for showing it, I'll be going over this at Carlisle soon.
Thank you and best regards,

Any update on the C5 to C3 seat conversion mounts? You guys have a release date yet? (Will these also work with C6 seats?)

Thanks,
Adam
