Refreshed spoiler area on the 69!
Bare fiberglass

Finally summoned the courage to do a bit of painting on the 69 I have owned now for 18 months or so. Rock chips of 5 decades really made the front lower area look terrible after I put on a new rubber airdam from Zip. Sooooo... out came the paint gun and hope.
First pic is sanded with 150 grit then sandblasted the areas I could not reach to bare fiberglass.
Second pic is painting.
Third is the blend line. Came out better than I ever hoped for. That is basecoat/clear into acrylic lacquer.
Fourth is final product!
Absolutely amazing!!

Thanks guys!
I put this on the board to hopefully demonstrate an alternative to living with a chipped front end until you decide to paint the entire car.
Its not that difficult to blend the old non-metalic colors with modern basecoat/clear as long as the paint is not too faded. New materials and equipment are waaaay easier to handle than the old style stuff. You don't have to be a great painter, just good at fixing your mistakes!!

Plus it only has to be 10-footer, not flawless. And a good place to practice before you try to touch up that crack repair on the hood surround.
