55 and older driving corvettes!!!!!!!
I was reading a article out of a old corvette magazine from 1978 ,and it said that only !% of the people driving corvettes are 55 or older ,I must say back in 1971 when I had my corvette the old guys were driving the cadillacs ,and olds 98s, how times have changed ,even now you notice the younger generation isnt into corvettes.

I bought my first Corvette when I was 21, and everyone in my Corvette club and at local shows, were around my age, or not much older. I turned 64 two weeks ago, and everyone I see at shows, or know that own a Corvette today, are still around my age.
Not much has changed, except when we got together back then, we talked about partying and running around, now we all just talk about our latest medical ailments.

Let's face it, expensive 2-seat sports cars are not very practical for younger folks that have families and strollers. I don't expect to see 20 or 30-somethings driving a Corvette. But I occasionally do. Same with Ferrari's. Lambo's seem to attract the 20-something year old silver spoon trust funders for some reason.

It's not just Corvettes who's owners have aged, it seems to go along almost all American cars. It seems every car show I attend anymore has very few people 30 or younger either displaying or attending.
The car culture is dead compared to what it was 40 years ago.

EDIT: Driving around, 85% 55 plus is probably about right.

C3 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019
Most of us are driving, or working on the car in the garage. The car culture isn't dead, it's just evolved. The racetracks are sold out every time there's a track day, and (depending on the event) the majority of participants are younger guys. Car shows just aren't of much interest to a lot of younger people. Can't remember the last one I went to...

I bought my first Corvette (a 67 427/400) on the last day of 1966. back then, the members of my (San jacinto) Corvette club were all within a couple of years of MY age (25).
Today, the members of MY corvette club (BRCC) are all MY age..........or older;-) Only two of them have any interest in tracking their Corvette.

Is the Kingfish still in business?
I have not been to NJ MSP in a while, and stopping there on the way back to North Jersey was always a treat.

Bought my first vette at 19 in 1965. (C1)
In the NY metro area at that time it seemed to be an even split between young guys and those over 50.
I stopped noticing around 1972 when my '67 was stolen.
I was shopping for my C3 in the late 80's it seemed like all the sellers were 50+
Now in my early 70's almost everyone I see driving one is about my age.
My guess is the young guys can't afford them, the middle aged need something bigger and us old guys automatics.
Where have all the flowers gone?

At my age of 67, 85 % of Corvette owners are younger than me.
In the early 70's a new vette was $5500 to $7000. Lots of young guys made that much in a year.
Now, not many 21 to 25 year olds guys make in one year what a new Corvette cost. A new one is two or three years income.
Its not a young man's game anymore.

I live in Seattle with a heavy tech community (so lots of people from other countries).
Most of the younger people (I'm 50) who see my 68 have no idea what the heck it is.
Here it is all BMW, Tesla, and tuners.
