Black car, red interior. Nice, you'll be proud to show off that beauty. T

I would be proud to show off your interior, looks like a brand new car, in fact looks better then new.

Love the red interior in Corvette, makes them stand out.

Putting the bottom covers on I could see that the trough in the foam for the cover to pull down in with the corrugated wire was back about an inch too far. I modified the foam and then they fit very well. I also noticed that the color was slightly off, but just chalked both issues up to normal aftermarket BS. When I had the backs attached to the foam I saw 76-78 in red magic marker on the inside of the side flap of the cover. I rolled the top up to look for the area the top trim/retainer goes on the 69 to 75 style seat. It was not there. These were the wrong covers. I again modified the foam and then they fit really nice.

All in all, I think it came out pretty good. The color mismatch doesn't show that bad. I see it, but I don't think most people will notice, it does bug me though.

PS: The iPhone photos don't really capture the color that well. It looks more red in person. More brilliant or dynamic, something, just better.

Nice work, looks great !

Man I like the interior, especially dash and center console, of the older C3s so much better than my 1980. It has a lot of class.

Looks like you can only open one door at a time to work on the car?

All the interior is original except the seat covers , carpet and a new center gauge bezel for a one din stereo.

There's more room than it looks like on the driver's side. I can open the door about 75% on that side and wide open on the passenger side. I'll have more room when I get rid of all the boxes parts came in and organize all my extra parts and bins.

The car is actually in my basement. I have a garage door that opens to my basement that the previous owner put in during an addition in 1980. I've owned the place since 1995, although I rented it out for about 10 years.

I know right. I love the early C3 interior. The later box style interior on the newer C3 is OK but it doesn't hold a candle to the round gauge interior IMHO.

OP - VERY NICE JOB. You can see the subtle difference in color but it doesn't look bad at all. I wouldn't worry about it.

Do you have any "before" pictures. It's always cool to see the before and after results.

Good question! There is another thread running here about how the center cluster surround doesn't fit all that well at the top left hand corner. This fit looks pretty good and in memory mine originally did too, but not anymore.

I do. It was Oxblood dark red. Parts of it almost looked brown. Didn't like it at all.

Great job - thats a whole lotta RED! I just replaced my gage bezel and brake console and ordered new leather seat covers and foam.

Are your seats vinyl?
