Craftsman and many others are lifetime guaranteed just like Snap On. The diff is, with the others you are guaranteed to use the guarantee...

Thing is, Craftsman tools aren't what they used to be, and in many cases, portions of their tool line is no longer "lifetime guaranteed". Some of my Craftsman tools are close to 50 years old, and you can tell, just by looking at them, that they're better made than today's tools....

"You get what you pay for " has always been flawed to me,
Its become more of an slogan for overpaying,
To me its more " you hope you get what you believe you are paying for"
Nope, just paying more for something doesnt make it better or even good.
Craftsmen tools is an example, i too have seen them go from a very well made tool to not so much anymore and they also killed the lifetime replacement on well over half of them.
I have broken as many snap on tools as i have other brands.

Necessity
Necessity, the mother of invention, or of crappy shop made tools. A once proud 40 year old Craftsman combination wrench and piece of 1x. At least I can tighten the number 7 and 8 header bolts. No doubt, some of you could probably teach me a trick to this job

Melting Slicks
My latest 2 tools for N* Cadillac... One for holding inside tie rod and another for power steering adapter at the pump. I always keep some extra wrenches to cut up.
