Lenny lots of speculation for a expensive car!!!! To many variables. No doubt the diff has been Restamped. I assume that not something GM did correct?? Also the date numbers are for 1969 correct?
I was hoping to get some more input from some other board members. Perhaps they are out enjoying the holiday.!!

Many thanks by the way to all our forum Veterans!! The country and its people owe you a debt of gratitude!!!!!Especially those who gave the ultimate in sacrifice!!!!

Too many what ifs for me sadly. A shame nice car!!!!

Anthony I will PM you shortly.

V26278 If your thinking of bidding PM me.

Again thanks all. Ike

I’m gonna pass, not willing to roll the dice without an inspection. I called the seller and talked about this, that I wouldn’t bid unless I could see the body mount and pop off some windshield trim, as you know he’s reluctant. I’m not going to hire an inspector, send them in only to find they can’t do their job.

as for the rear end date, that wouldn’t be a factor for me, an August 69 date would have been intended for the 70 model year, which was shortened due to a strike, There was a fair bit of labor disruption at GM back in 69 and 70, and possibly parts got inventoried and wound up on 71’s. It’s plausible that it’s original, but unless you can see some matching numbers I guess it’s a question mark, and maybe knocks a hair off the value for a #1 or #2 car. As nice as it is, this blue vert isn’t that caliber, just my .02 worth.

Many thanks to the OP Ike and all the others who posted, this forum is a great resource.

currently sittin at 35K. probably a decent price for a LT1 roadster with a couple excuses but with a strong engine stamp and doc.
some require lesser excuses for that price..
some will pay lots more for lessor excuses.

Because I could personally fix any of the issues that the car has I would give 35k for it if the paint was original.... even if the windshield frame has some issues. A digital camera scope would go a long way to checking the areas of the car which need to be checked.

JOewill well stated. Everyone has tb
hier own expectations and requirements For me originality is important and there is no getting that rear back to the original one.
I would pay more for a car with original components. But would not want a car without them even if it comes cheap. Plenty of original beautiful base models to look at. Ike

No worries Ike, I sat it out, saw those two guys lining up to duke it out and it sorta played out as I expected. This is the first online auction I’ve ever considered, kinda new to this so happy to come away from it car-less but more knowledgable. Plenty of nice vettes out there.

Agreed great car but too many unknowns especially for an auction setting. It will be interesting to see what happens. I wonder if the highest bidder saw the car and what they are looking for. Lots of vettes out there but not a lot of great ones, at least close by to me !! Good luck with your search. Ike
