Default Will 68 L88 radiator support work in 69?

I am replacing my radiator with a DeWitt L88 radiator. I need a new radiator support. Many Corvette venders sell a L88 radiator support described as being for a 1968. My car is a 1969. Will a 1968 radiator support work in a 1969? Is there any difference between a 1968 and 1969 L88 radiator support? Thanks for the help.

I would say no based off of the part numbers. My 12/79 part book shows 3938090 for a 68 L88 support, and a 3966597 for a 69 L88. It also lists for the 597 70-2 350 w/hd, 4 spd, shp 70-1 w/hd rad. I'm guessing these two are the ZR1 and ZR2. Ecklers lists a 597 reproduction

No, not without major modifications. The frame horns are different and the angle gussets on the core supports are different. DeWitts has a lot of "bigger radiator" options that would have been a lot easier. If you are trying to make a ZR1, you can just use the 69-72 SB (base option) support. This support uses the same pin mount and there is a piece of sheet metal welded on to close up the opening. You can cut this piece off and/or modify it to match the face of the bigger radiator

Thanks. I was given the radiator by a friend and was hoping to use it instead of purchasing another radiator. I will look at modifying the small block support that is in the car.

If you have a 'real' L88 radiator support, your best use of it would be to sell it on eBay for what it is. Then, just buy a good 3 or 4 core aluminum radiator which will fit in your support. You don't need a radiator with different height/width dimensions; you need an aluminum unit with more cores.
