For 15k, move on to a different car unless the seller will negotiate because of the body damage & non working A/C

Hig116, I'd explain to the seller that the rear end body repair and engine bay situation create a need for expensive repair. If I really wanted it, I'd offer 9K and go with $10K tops. No more.
My 2 cents.
And Good Luck on whatever you and the seller does, and feel good about it afterwards. For it's just a car.

The ask price is easily double what the car should sell for. Needs $10K minimum in paint and body before any of the mechanical repairs are done. if it was complete and finished, it would sell for what? Automatic is not helping either. Find a better car.

I can't disagree with your assessment Stingr, for I failed to say I'm a DIY'r and somewhat experienced and set up to do fairly extensive restoration work. Since Hig111 mentioned that he's somewhat fearful in repair work, your $10K estimate is spot on.

since its never seen rain, how do you know there are no water leaks at the t-tops?
needs thousands in body work and paint. good luck matching the paint, or will require a total repaint.. more thousands..

In my humble opinion it's a $7000 car. YMMV
