Default Bad noise coming from rear?

At least, I think it's the rear. It's been making this noise for the past 2 or 3 days, only at low speed, and only when I'm turning (specifically to the left.) I can feel and hear the noise, and it seems to be closest to the left rear wheel.
Any ideas?

If you can "feel" the noise, start by checking the output shaft u joints. Jack the car up and rotate the wheel by hand and check for play in the shaft. Sometimes you'll need a long screw-driver to insert into the joint to check for sloppy movement.

I had a similar noise and it was the outer u-joint on the half shaft. I replaced them all at the same time and no more noise and didn’t have to worry about which one would be next.

Make sure the diff is full. Pull the plug and see if any fluid runs out. If not stick a finger in the hole to see just how low it is.

Thank you! Guess I know what it (and I'm) doing tomorrow.

I had a brand new rebuilt rearend that did that and needed more special rearend oil additive to quiet it down. no one can tell me why but the bands bind up.

I can tell you why. First there are no bands in a differential, there is a posi case with clutches that depending on how they are setup will chatter, sometimes a lot. GM limited slip additive is required to be put in with the gear oil to allow the clutches to slip when they get hot in a turn.
