Default Ac low pressure line nightmare

Winter project, I replaced compressor, accumulator, orfice tube all O-rings, low pressure line flushed evap and condenser PAG oil 150 . installed and did a vaccum test and would not hold, dropped from 30 to 28 in 18 hours. Next I checked all fittings with soap and no leaks, so I checked new hose and yup a leak at the suction side crimp. Ordered a replacement installed it and yup leak at the same spot. Ordered a third one from a different shop and yup made in China junk leaked and it also had a none working Schrader valve on the service port. I have talked to both shops and waitng for a solution. Sure glad I do all this work myself. Thankyou Made in China.

Can anyone beat this?

Take the offending hose to a good local hydraulic hose shop and have them crimp it for you. Or use your ends and make a new hose.

Have you contacted Wilcox? He actually works on C3's as well has sells parts so I would think he would have a high quality low pressure hose.

wow I must have got lucky with my new repro hoses. my intentions were to take the old hoses and ends to the hydraulic shop and have new hoses made but I couldn't get the old scraeder valves out. the repros had a different size fitting then my original. had to buy adapters for my r12 gauges.

Tim is correct! We have a place here called Rinky Dink's... and they can fab up/fix just about any hose you have. While you didn't get a good hose this may be the best solution because right now the reproductions don't have a good rep.

Your profile doesn’t say where you live, but I’ve used these guys.

They make whatever you want, very reasonable.

We have a shop called Fast Hose here in DFW. They made my custom power steering hoses for my hydraboost while I waited and did a couple of short ss brake lines for the rear (because Willwood can't for some reason) again, while I waited. The product looks first rate and was very reasonable.

My nightmare was the hose fitting at the compressor, the liquid line connection at the condenser, and a leaking schrader valve. Each was a very small leak that bleed down over a period of days. Each time I took it to the AC shop another problem would arise. Oh and did I mention leaks at the bottom accumulator connection?

Now I'm getting pissed just thinking about all that I went through. I'm convinced that if it's weird, unusual, or has never been seen before... It's usually my crap.

Anyway the AC shop owner actually gave me a free charge of the system. He felt sorry for me after my third trip there.

So I have a update, my 4th low pressure hose does not leak, did pressure test on system and my luck, the rebuilt delco compressor leaked at case seal. Put new one in hooked up system and Finally it is holding 30 vacuum. I will wait until first hot day to charge coolant, 134a . Crossing my fingers.

Hydraulic hose crimp is not the same as the A/C hose crimp. If the repop hoses have hydraulic crimps, that may be your problem. Check for the difference on You Tube / Google.
