Default A-pillar trim alignment- t-top front lock rubbing

Any tips on getting this aligned so the locks don't hit? Replaced it last summer with Wilcox supplied pieces, look good compared to old. Originals were deteriorated at top so can't tell if they were rubbing also.

See attached should the trim wrap around or cover the this lip you see if the photo between the weatherstripping and the trim?

It physically cannot wrap a round the pillar. It is pretty much going to end up looking like how you have it now and YES...the T-top latch is known to sometimes conflict with it and that may require NEW holes beign drilled in the pillar post .

Great at least its probably installed correctly I was able to get all the screws back in. To clarify I was wondering if it should cover the lip that is inbetween the rubber and trim, it kinda covers it on the top and bottom but not the middle.

So I guess that probably is why the original got chewed up at the top?

It being chewed up at the top has nothing to do with why it is not up against the pillar in the middle. That is the part itself. Modifications or adjustments to how it is installed may be required to get that gap to go away and look like the top and bottom.
