Default Decipher a Windshield Code Please

A few years I purchased a new windshield from a fellow up in Ft.Worth TX. I thought I got a good deal for $90.
I didn't know anything about the windshields for these cars.
Well now I'm reading a lot here about windshields and their installation in our C3s.
Someone had the codes off of their windshield in one of the threads that I read. You guys told him exactly what he had.
I'm hoping that I can get the low down on the codes on the new windshield that I purchased way back when.
The one that is now installed in the car now is a PPG glass which I believe was supposed one of the better quality windshields.
It has a large wiper arm scratch on the driver side which is not repairable.
Here are the codes off of my new windshield...

SGC
M-8 DOT 65 AS1
LF SOLAR SHADED DW893

Probably Chinese junk right?
If it is, please recommend a superior quality windshield manufacturer.

Craig

Oh by the way I measured the thickness of the new windshield glass to be .200. I know that's not a good sign.

Here is the date code chart that should help you.
Also.,., post a picture of the etching and I'll break it down for you. Does the glass say LOF on it?

A second Also.. ;d I posted about how to make the thinner glass work in the cars by making spacers to basically shim it outward so the molding didn't look funny. I've never mic'd an original glass but I have plenty of them here if you need me to do it. If you search by title and then Willcox Corvette I'm sure you'll find it.

But an original glass should have LOF etched in it for starters and seeing a picture of the etching would go a long way for me.

I will take pictures of the NEW windshield today.

I don't care what's in there now.
