All lights stopped working
Hey, just a question about my 1978.
I pulled out the headlight switch to turn on exterior lights. Everything turned on, including dash lights for 1-2 seconds then went dark. The interior courtesy lights also no longer work.
Did I blow 2-3 fuses? What should I check.
I measured voltage at the dome light and I get 12 volts on both sides of the light when the interior switch is off. When I turn interior lights on, I get 0 volts at both sides of the dome light.

I tried to trace out the circuits on a wiring diagram for most of the lighting. It looks like all of the power to the lights comes off the starter and through the headlight switch. Since everything is dead, I'm thinking the fusible link may have burnt out?

I think I solved it. I was replacing one of the tail light sockets and forgot to hook up the rear ground... on the frame rail.
Power was actually dead for whole car, not just lights - I thought it was just the lights because my fitech was still had power, but I had that wired to the battery directly.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery restored power - is there some kind of circuit breaker??

I believe it is self-resetting.
