I would think a smaller diameter would wear a little faster. Is strength not so much an issue because of better metallurgy? Thanks

11/32 is stock small block diameter. They live hundreds of thousands of miles. And big blocks have longer stems-guides. We are putting these together for toys. Keepsakes. Collector items. There are surely a few C3's being used as daily drivers, but they are most likely base small blocks. I don't think engine wear is much of an issue at this point in these car's lives.

I totally agree. I am not trying to build a race engine. But, I would like to use modern materials and technology to make everything work well together. If I can make the valve train work better by buy parts that work better than production part and last longer, I like that idea. Like, bee hive valve springs. I don't plan on running it at 6500 rpm but I sort of like the idea of it having that capacity. Its all fun. Thanks
