Suggestions for Updated seats in a 73

A bolt right in option and good looking are the late C3 Corvette seats, specifically the 1979-1982 years. Good looking and comfortable. Buy a used pair, refoam, reecover and they'll last decades. Unless you want something way more modern looking and the C5 seats are an option as well.

1st gen miata are popular and cheap-easy to find. Fiero seats were good option, but they don't exist anymore. Nice thing about late C3 seats is they look like Corvette seats.

I went from the stock seats for 72 to C5 seats. I just got a set of C5 powered sport seats. I rebuilt them and the are fantastic. I did have to make some brackets to mount them but with the modifications I have done to this car it is minor. They are very comfortable and light. Plus the air lumbar is nice as I am not getting any younger.

I went with Corbeau GTSII seats. Cut down the headrests to mimic the 69 seats-
Really quite affordable at less than $375 a piece cloth- $425/ea suede and $575/ea for leather

I found a Fiero in my local Pull-A-Part salvage yard and got the seats out of it for $50.
Ordered a custom made upholstery kit from a business in Florida that specializes in Fiero seats for about $450.
I also bought a set of adapter bracket to bolt the stock Corvette seat tracks to the Fiero seats.
Recovered the seats in my family room and installed them over a weekend.

I went with clamshells in my 76. I like the somewhat period correct look.Newer aftermarket sport seats just dont look right to me.

On my 69 I cleaned painted and rebuilt my frames then had leather covers installed
UGH to make the wife stop bitching about the money I’m spending on parts restoring this car I let her have our initials monogrammed on the
head rests .
The yellow is Daytona Yellow. Matchs the paint.

Ohhhhhhh just put me out of my misery. my friends are giving me hell.
most common response. “ Is Hers on the drivers seat?”
Ugh the things we do to keep them happy when we spend money on man toys.

C3 Stroker....are the Fiero seatbacks adjustable? I’m not sure if I’m seeing a handle to lean back or set upright the angle of the seat. FYI, I think yours look very good, as do the clamshells above and others posted here.
Is this (circled yellow) a seatback handle to adjust the seat angle?

I had some C4 seats recovered. They are 94-96 standard seats I found here on the for sale section. They fit in the car pretty well and are very comfortable.

Thanks ddawson and c3stroker. I’ve had 4 back surgeries (4th was 5 months ago) and my wife has had two. She says the seats MUST have adjustable seatbacks. Those Fiero seats look much more comfortable than the originals in our C3. Of course ours are pretty flat. I’m guessing we have 47 year old foam in ours. Thanks again.
