Classic white Opinion
Hi guys!
getting ready to spay my vert in the base coat! There more work to be had first...
BUT I’m thinking to go with the original factory color of classic white! What’s the general opion of the factory color!!?? I’m only asking because I’m considering adding some metal flake / pearl to get a bit more of a shine. Similar to the ivory metallic of the challengers you see on the road today!
lets hear some opinions of the color!
T
Thank you

GM Sumit white looks awesome, trust me on that one. Not too bright, not reflective has depth....wont look like an appliance.
DuPont base white same thing pretty much.
Hated the orig Ermine white

If you like shine, probably a dark color would be better. Black, red, green, blue I'm sure there are others. But, pick what looks good to your eye. White looks great with a red interior. Not sure what color yours is.

I totally agree with the thought of painting the car the original color. However, if you add some sort of metalflake whatever to it, its not the original color so you are essentially not painting it the original color.

White is the best color for an 80-82, especially with a red interior. White Corvettes (of any year), are just a bit faster.
The PO did a passable job repainting my car Classic White. It'll do for now. My GMC Sierra is Summit White. Comparing the two in the driveway, I'd go with Summit White without hesitation.
Before you go all pearl or metallic flake, try to find a Denali-level truck painted in White Frost Tricoat or White Diamond Pearl, or whatever it's called. You'll know it when you see it. It is, something, and probably not something you want on your C3.

I prefer White. Only Corvettes look good in White. They're just so attractive in White.
I love the brilliant shine of my 2017 Arctic White C7.
The ivory shade or metallic flakes in it?

Congrats on your decision to stay the course with white. You won't be sorry!!!
A HUGE advantage to a white car is that when you have to touch up any road nicks, they fall blind to the eye and have to really be searched for to be seen....the paint always looks great! Just be sure to save some of the paint you use for touch-ups. If you drive it,you WILL get the occasional nick and ding!
I used S/W paint on my 87 and loved the results. Man, I still miss that car.....

I had a '75 Classic White coupe. IMO it's the best color for that body style, and all the better if it's the original color.
Don't mind this gratuitous pic ...
