Default The St. Louis Assembly Plant Today

This is where the greatest cars of our generation where assembled until that fateful day in 1981. These pics where taken today if you go there this is what the area looks like now. If you go there I suggest you take something like picture #4 with you and pic #5 is the beautiful creations to come out of this building.

looks like now and the last pic is just a suggestion of what to bring with you if you want to visit, please stay in your car.

Well funny you should say that I almost got nailed when a car (Chrysler 300) (draw your own conclusions) ran a red light and almost nailed my as I was taking the picture.

I bought my first Corvette in May of 2015, and was in St. Louis for work November of that year. I had to go to see the “old factory “ while I was there. I knew it wasn’t a great area so I strategically went there on a Sunday morning. It was interesting and sad to see the building. I think I parked at the gas station right on the corner maybe near from where you took those pictures. I will admit I did feel very uneasy while I was there. Nice looking machine you have there.

Certainly is sad to see St. Louis in it's current state. Times sure have changed.

FWIW: the Corvette building at St. Louis was razed years ago. It's gone.

I don't have a job I'm retired and play with my car and motor home! If you want better pics I'll dig out my old bullet proof vest and take better pics. I worked Armored Car in St. Louis for 31 years many times in this very "hood".
