Dakota Digital VS Speedhut Gauges
Looking at buying a set of modern gauges for my 71 restomod, I really like the look of the DD VHX Series but they price seems really high for what they are. Speedhut pricing seems far more reasonable, does anyone have experience with either?

Over $1400- for the Dakota Digital VHX series? Yikes!
I think Speedhut will let you order custom gauges with the Corvette logo on them, but you'll have to do some work getting them installed.
I hope to someday have a set of VDO Vision gauges. I've only gotten as far as 3D printing a dash insert panel (77-82).

I put the DD VHX in my '70 and love them. They are pricey but work perfectly. I had to get an adapter for my TKO transmission but everything else was an easy install.

They mount into your stock dash and center console bezels. They simply replace the instruments themselves.

The only thing that really bothers me about the VHX is the cheap looking digital clock. Give me a real clock or option for something useful like oil temp or AFR.

You don't have to get the digital clock. I have the analog clock that looks similar to the original minus the adjusting ****. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

I was debating this same thing. Then Dakota Digital came out with the HDX line. They are way cool except the ones for the C3. IDK why I dislike them. That being said, have you looked at the HDX for the 47-53 Chevy/GMC pickup? They fit perfectly in the C3 but move all the gauges from the center to the 2 main clusters. I'm thinking about doing that freeing up the center for a 2DIN stereo. Best of all, there is no Corvette tax. They are like $500 less that the ones for the C3.

The gauges are from New Vintage USA and cost less than $600.
I made a new front for my existing center stack to accommodate the 2DIN stereo.

I love Speedhut gauges. I have them in three cars including the Vette. The programmable warning lights, gps speedo, and complete choice in aesthetics are awesome.
