Just found out a bit of something cool about my '68
Little by little, I've been trying to get background for my '68. In the boxes of documents that accompanied the car when I purchased it, documents bearing the names and addresses of two previous owners (not counting who I bought it from) were found. A while ago I wrote letters and included my mailing and email addresses. Both went unanswered. For chitz-n-giggles I sent the letters again about 6 or so months after the first were sent. I got an email from one of the previous owners containing a phone number and a simple, "Call me". So I did.
Anyway, I was told that a famous person had been a passenger in this car. Evidently, this person and the then owner were neighbors. I get this photo texted to me.
And BTW- this post isn't to insinuate that I think this adds value to the car. I thought the whole thing is pretty cool, and I just figured I'd share it.
Thanks for watching

Purchased my '72 from the first owners. They were divorcing in '74 and were selling to settle their accounts. I tried contacting the woman whose name was on the title. My request actually went to her parents and they replied that they wouldn't give out her contact information. I'd think that after 40 years they'd have gotten past their differences and moved on.

So what's the story here? What was the occasion for Muhammad Ali being in a 68 convertible? Charity event?

Great story!! I’ve been trying to get info on my 71 but no one responds. Maybe I’ll try again. I finally reached one of the sons of a prior owner to my 88 35th Anniversary car. He’s scanning a lot of documents on the car and will be sending them to me! Took me over 17 years to get that one

He wasnt a draft dodger, he was a conscientious objector. Big difference, draft dodgers ran to Canada. Muhammad Ali stayed and faced his music. He was later cleared and able to fight again. Much braver to stand up for your rights knowing he would be punished versus just running away. Or getting daddy to pull strings and get you in the national guard. Theres lots of people I would call a draft dodger long before Muhammad Ali. At least 2 of them have been presidents and many more movie stars. Then theres presidents who leave ambassaders and soldiers to die on foreign soil just so they wouldnt put boots on the ground,.... I can go on and on. Muhammed Ali has my respect, these people do not
6 years navy, more than 4 under water, all off the coast of Russia in the 80's. If DoorGunner said that, he could call him whatever he wants and I wouldnt correct him. If you severed in Viet Nam,my apologies for speaking my mind.
