Default End of hibernation

Hey guys, please post up your cars, bikes, and trucks whatever you're getting out storage for the cruisin' season or where you are on your builds. I hope this gets everyone excited for some clear weather. We havent seen many nice days yet in the Northeast. Feel free to encourage everyone

Heres my baby, just christened the Bluebird. SR68 (Scott Rogers'68). I think its as cool as the SR71Blackbird..lol
I just got done rebuildinh the tranny into a M20 from the M21, new Hekemian Racing heads, Comp Cams .501/ .510 lift solid lifter cam, Roller Rockers, MSD digital 6AL, MSD tachdrive distributor, had to throw on a new Edelbrock 1902 Qudrajet i rejetted and did some modding to with Cliff Ruggles book. I had to because my Rochester Qjet is failing internally. Threw in a '64 3.70 posi and repainted the engine compartment along with adding a complete VBP suspension.

Test drive prior to adjustments

New MSD wires

Had the valve covers off for valve lash adjustments

Stuffing it in

Had to try a little color on my rear end

Cleaned up the alum

MSD controller where the old stock radio amp was behind the passenger dash

Added a PCV breather to add some fresh air into the block

New reman Delco Remy'on all 4 corners from autozone at $75 piece and no leaks

My sexy rear end

Also added a inline fuel cooler since i have side pipes and it preheats my gas lines

Also had to fix a mlted fuse block line for the lights

The 64 3.70 rear. 3.70s are hard to find uo here. I've got the 3.55 sitting on the shelf and a 69 rear end to build into a 3.70 when this one eventually explodes.

Rebuilt the steering box and added a new power control valve

VBP front A arms and suspension pieces

Cleaned up thw wiring and hoses

Geez, your talents far, far, outweigh mine... Good grief! But

First day in the sunshine - 27 April

And today. Had to make a delivery to one of our schools, and it wasn't raining! Had to go out of my way to work in an on-ramp blast.

Maybe see you again at Marlborough?

Thanks, I hope it runs as good as it looks. Its been a lot of ups and downs trying to figure out the various issues with the ignition, carb and distributor. There was a lot of small problems that all happened at the same time. I tried to put too many new and unknown quantities on it and tried to make it work not knowing if the carb would need new jets, how the MSD would work and new high flowing heads. I had a bad distributor, the wrong jets, half a carb that suddenly stopped flowing on one side, ( it had no fuel on the 2, 3, and 5 cylinders. Probably number 8 too.) The drivers side idle screw was the only side that worked.
I'm glad I have friends that I can talk to to help me figure things out. John Kippin got me onto the bad distributor and had an idea about the carb too. I called Tim at Tims speed shop in Nashua looking for a sparkplug wire crimper for the new MSD wires I had to build and he came up with the idea I could have the wrong plugs too. So I called Gregg Hekimian from Hekimian Racing that designed the heads and said the plug I had was protruding and they were designed for the non protruding plugs.

If it ever stops raining I can test drive the latest fixes. Then I 'll post a video too

Sunday, 2 June. Be there or be square. I'm planning on Larz Anderson too. Medfield is fun, but we'll be in Montana.

Had the 68 out several times already. The start of the spring season has been “juicy” to say the least. On the sunny days we get out. All we need is a fresh oil and lube job
Have fun all!

I love the look without a front tag. Its a shame its mandatory around here, it takes alot away from the front end styling throwing a big white plate on the center of the grill
