Default Corvette salvage yard???

Does anyone know of a salvage yard that would have some early C3's? I had a very minor accident in my car back in January and the car has been sitting in the body shop since because there seems to be zero availability for parts. The lower front corner of the left fender was hurt so the body shop ordered a new fender and plan to graft just the damaged section in. The lover valence was also busted up and that has been ordered as well.

Anyway we are 90 days in and the car is just sitting there collecting duct in the shop. Today the shop owner said he would graft in another piece if I could get my hands on one. He has a wrecked vette sitting behind his shop but its a late 70's and my car is a '69...different turn signals.

Anyway I would consider buying an entire car if the price was right just to have spare body panels! Trying to find a salvage yard but not coming up with anything that seems to have entire cars. Im in Ga by the way. Any help is much appreciated.

You can try Paragon in Schwartz Creek, MI. They have a small "junk" yard of Corvettes next to their store.

Try Tracey’s Corvette Roseville, Michigan. I can’t believe repair shop can’t find a fender, even a reproduction fender, you might have to find it yourself.

There are several 69 front fender sections on eBay. I've been buying up lots of original parts on there for the last few years and found some really great pieces. I am finding it easier then dealing with the shops. Lately they just don't seem to care. No call backs or answers to emails. The guys that put the parts on eBay clearly WANT to sell the part. Good luck.

If your body shop specializes in repairing Corvettes, they should have sources for used parts. If they are a body shop that fixes mostly modern transportation cars, they may not be the best choice to repair your car. A repair not properly done on a special interest car - even if it looks good could diminish the value of your car. If you want to use this shop, the earlier post about you having to locate the parts yourself it probably the case.

IF you have all the pieces to the smashed body sections, a GOOD glass man can put that all together with fairly minimal difficulty....mechanical parts/steel/frame sometimes better replacing for all the effort to save them......I have seen entire frames rebuilt, some not so good, some totally beautiful.....

largest trick is to keep all the broken pieces.....be amazed what a GOOD tig welder can do with headlight parts....for instance.... my hood was badly smashed once, but a good glass man made it purrfect.....

You're in Georgia, so the first person you should try is Mack, at Corvette Mack in Fayetteville GA. Mack is a super guy to deal with. He's dealing more with newer cars more now, because it's getting harder to find the older ones at a price you can part them out at, but he still may be able to help you. 404-825-7207.

He also runs an eBay store. https://www.ebay.com/str/CORVETTE-MACK

LOL I just rebuilt the front right corner and wheel lip on a 71 LT1 roadster...(it had been repaired somewhere down in Georgia with bondo and fiberglass matt )--- I had it in and out with a complete clear coat inside of 3-1/2 weeks. BUT there was way more damage than was represented when I took the car in.

also send a PM to RVZIO. he doesn't currently have a spare nose, but i think he has pieces. he also takes on an occasional job for other people. cranks it out too. if he accepts a job, it is top of his que, not something he will get to. central FL east coast.

You might want to find another shop Amelio if this one cannot locate the parts. What you have described you need I have personally seen a half dozen available in my area over the last two weeks. Sounds like they are not big into Corvettes, or that is how it sounds from your description. Guys on the CF here can help you find what you need without question.

Good luck with your search.

Their boneyard is mostly mid to late c3s, but I haven't wandered through it this year yet.

In western Colorado, most collision shops, even the best, won't work on classic cars. Look for a "hot rod" shop. If you have to provide the parts, it gives the shop an out if the repair isn't first class. I wouldn't let a shop that doesn't specialize in Vettes work on mine. A Corvette shop can find what is needed to do the repair. Good luck.

It is absolutely blowing me away that these simple parts are not sitting on a shelf somewhere! It seems that most fiberglass parts are made to order and for some reason the manufacture is simply not making them. I wonder if they are waiting until they receive more orders to make a run???? either way its absolutely ridiculous and frustrating!

Thank you for the info!
