Cool! What do people use for these videos? Go Pro's? If so, is there any special one, and what mount?

I use the gopro 5 black. It has image stabilization, hd, and itsxwaterproof. If you subscribe to their premium plan it will automatically store the videos in the cloud. you can download them and share to youtube, just setup a channel. Its basically just signing in and saving under your name. The have a app that lets you see the camera view live so you can mount it anywhere you want and turn it on and off once they're connected. It eats batteries so additional batteries and a charger are a good idea. If you subscribe you get accessories 1/2 off i believe. I promised some pics of my setup, i just havent gotten to it yet.

Scott, what are you using to do the video? I've a GoPro6 - does OK, but the mount I have it on gives it the shakes, and the audio is wretched. Can barely hear the exhaust, although it does a pretty good job picking gear whine out of all the wind noise. I've only tried it mounted behind the seats on top. Had a safety tether on it, just in case!
Dalton, go back into the camera settings and check nh image stabilization. if you set the view to wide or frame rate too high on the 5, it shuts off some of the features. Maybe the 6 does it too

Thanks!....That brought back many memories! I'm from NH/VT/MA originally and have done dozens of trips like that...always in the 69 with the top down.

If your're posting more videos....MORE EXHAUST NOISE!

Never mind about the turkeys.....watch out for DEER!

Ill have to find more hilly roads worth videoing. Theres some on the Vt border that are nice, ill have to head out there some weekend.

The rte 123 downhill has some nice exhaust notes!!

I'm not comfortable using the adhesive type mounts... I used the suction-cup mount on the rear, yes, with a lanyard, tho the thing is rated to something like 150mph. I have a head mount, hoped to try it today, but life got in the way.

I did not know about the built-in image stabilization and wind noise cancellation, the thing one learns here. I don't find the GoPro documentation terribly helpful. So, I figured them out, and have them turned on. Thank you for your tips, Scott. Perhaps things will work out better tomorrow for a trial run.

Rt 100 in Vermont is one of my all-time favorites. Handel's 'Water Music' makes for a nice sound track, if one wants that sort of audio .Another is the road on the westerly side of Squam Lake. I forget its NH Highway number.

When I headed up to the Hemmings show theres a couple of good winding roads going and coming, so I cant wait for that trip. The road going to North Adams through the town of Florida is really fun an a steep climb. I need to get film of that too!!! And of course I need to get up into the White Mountains area

Well see if this works - it appears I have the shakes under control, but the audio, not so much... I should have had the dash lights on.

A link but no nifty 'photo' to be an enticement. Oh, lookie, lookie, there is an enticement! And now it's gone...

It may be the way you linked it. I go to the video as I am watching it and copy the whole address and paste it in.

Ya the videos good but you are capturing a lot of noise. You may want to look into a remote mic if your going to leave it on your deck. Mines obviously close to the windshield so it blocks the wind noise. And I am extremely jealous of that mop of hair you have, I havent had that much hair since 1995 ish

Nice Hair! At least you have most of it... lol

Just buffeting noise.....do the squirrels have mufflers?

Get a remote Mic and stick it near the exhaust! Then do the double de-clutch!

Reminds me why I like driving the 82...a real Glove compartment! I was expecting the papers to fly out and whack the camera.

Thanks very much...always enjoyable!

Hair, that's one thing I can flaunt around town that most of my peer group can't

Did some more video tonight, but the sound is totally lacking. The damn adapter needed to connect 3.5mm mic cable end to the camera is crazy money. Maybe I'll try again with camera to one side, or maybe on side of car by end of exhaust. That ought to do it!

Yes. Aiming for 8ish arrival. See you then.

PS: Looking for suggestions for a microphone... I'm already bitching about the usury-level price of the needed adapter to the GoPro 6 Black ($50), so don't suggest a $300 unit!

I went tot a track event this past weekend. I suggest to anyone that has ever considered it to do it. It was a great learning experience and it just made me enjoy my car more and appreciate the technology of modern cars. I have a pretty tight setup in my car and it ran pretty flat in the turns and I was doing my best to keep a 2017 vette in my sights. I had to tone it down because the temps kept creeping up but by the end of the day had a pretty good idea of how to control the temp issues. The only other thing I would want to add to my car is a better cooling system and maybe bigger brakes but they didnt fade or let me down in any way, just the cooling system.

I have some GOPRO clips I'm trying to edit and save that I'll popst here soon

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! !

Here's the thread again. You can see the speed and G's on the track day. It was about 2 minutes per lap and 20 minutes of track time. The brakes got really hot as well as the engine. I pulled the shields from behind the grill, in front of the headlights which prompted a lot more are flow and ran the defroster and wired the electric radiator fan on to help keep it cool further into the laps. By the end I was getting faster and the car was staying cool enough to be out there until the final lap
