Default 1972 LT1 Hood restoration

Please ignore the cat.

My apologies about the lights.
Hi Everyone, I found this car over the winter and after safety, the first thing I want to do is start on the hood. I've go it stripped and I am just doing some repairs to the fiberglas before painting. Does anyone have any guidance on which sections of the underside should be black? I think the hardware should all be black and the colour on the car should be painted on the vertical section (about 1") under the hood but I am not sure. I'd like to keep things original, with a couple of exceptions.

Default Super nice LT-1 Corvette!!!

Few suggestions:
Looks like an original LT-1 hood, no holes for the 454 number emblems, great to have!

Underside flat black or satin black. I want to say the underside of hood is not painted, but I would paint it same black too to help seal it.

Get a copy of NCRS manual for 70-72 Corvettes, great source of info.

Fiberglass repair with mat and finish with evercoat vette panel adhesive VPA.

Body color on vertical sides of hood (thickness of the hood 1/4"?)

Great find enjoy!!!

Hoods received black out paint. The only hardware installed at the time were the hood hinges. All other items were installed after paint.
