Default 1969 Engine Motor Rebuild & Start-up DONE!

Hopefully you all can appreciate this moment, but after rebuilding my L46 and installing it, the nerve wracking moment of firing it up went off without a hitch. A couple of knowledgeable guys from my local NCRS chapter came to help, and I am indebted to their knowledge. Hopefully you can enjoy the video above.

On Father's Day, my son (6 years old) got to perform his first oil change (after the cam break-in), a good wash and wax, and finally a cruise through the neighborhood with smiles ear to ear (both of us).

Peter, the car looks great! All your prep work paid off in making that job go off without a hitch. Chip.

Thanks Chip! A good bath did it some justice. Again thanks for being there! You, Ed and Brian were methodical and critical to it starting.

Sounds great! A big moment after a long build. Double bonus that you’re able to share your first ride with your son

Happy it worked out and beautiful pics of your family and your C3. Good that your son is involved too, start em' early, I say! I understand the nerve wracking thing. I went through the same thing with my build. The fear of failure is strong! But we persevered and the engine runs! How cool is that?

Very nice job Pete, I know it was a long haul but judging by what we see well worth it. The NCRS folks that helped deserve a shout out to also. Very knowledgeable! Thank you for sharing your exciting moment .

Man you nailed it. Fear of failure is right, it was my biggest stressor that made this process drag out. Firing it up became a huge milestone and motivator.

In my relatively short NCRS experience, this is what it's all about! I couldn't have done it without them.

Hope you're well, it's good to "see" you!

Sounds great Pete. Congratulations to you and to your family. Won't be long before that little guy is helping you in the garage as well. Special times. Enjoy them, they flee too quickly.
Congratulations again, well done.
