C3 of the Year -- Appearance Modifications
For Corvetteforum’s C3 Corvette of the Year competition we have some big changes in store to make the competition more inclusive and, we hope, more fun for site users.
The changes include opening the contest to site users across the globe, rather than limiting it to residents of the contiguous United States. Further, we’ll break the competition down into four categories:
The reward in each of the categories is bragging rights and a designation under your user ID declaring your winning status.
This thread is for entries of Corvettes with Appearance Modifications.
You can enter just one of the categories of competition and you do so by posting one photo of your C3 in the appropriate thread no later than 11:59 p.m. PDT, July 15. Moderators then will pick ten of their favorites as finalists and set up a poll to allow you to vote on which of those finalists is the C3 Corvette of the Year in each of the above-referenced categories. The judging, of course, is subjective and will be heavily influenced by the quality of the photographs submitted for the entries.
In subsequent months, we’ll feature other generations for Corvette of the Year with the winner in each of those generations competing for Corvetteforum Corvette of the Year.
The fine print: One entry per member. This contest is open to site users over the age of 18 who own the car they enter. Cars which have previously won are not eligible. Entry photos must have been shot by the Corvette's owner except in the track car category where the Corvette has been photographed on the track while the owner was driving it.

C3 of Year Winner (appearance mods) 2019
This is our '76 "Larry" We found him on eBay looking pretty rough. With a good frame and a crate LS1 that had been mounted 10 years earlier but never wired or fired we decided it was a great place to start.
exterior appearance mods so far include:
’73 nose bonded to body
’73 custom made rear bonded to body
Inferno Orange paint
4” rear flares, 2” front
C6 side mirrors
18x12 and 18x9.5 Intro Pentia wheels
side pipes: Custom made for LS1
luggage rack, radio antenna, and security lock deleted and filled
all brightwork painted / powder coated
“CORVETTE” script in rear end lights up as marker light (red glow) , brake light (bring red), and reverse light (white)
LED halo tail lights.
LED switchback front DTRL/turn signals.

appearence modifications
Is this where I enter the contest with my 1968 Corvette. Only appearance modifications are headers with side pipes. I bought this car new September 11, 1968. I have 125,000 miles on it. First five years in Southern California, next 33 years in Alaska, and now the last 13 years in Missouri. My friend painted it the factory color, International Blue, in my home garage. I wish I could drive it every day as my only car as I did it's first seven years. Ed

1968 restomod roadster. Lots of modifications on this one with engine, trans, suspension, frame & interior but I'll enter it into appearance mods. Motion paint scheme, long L-88 hood, shaved marker lights, Astro vents and antenna. Side mirror delete, Lemans fuel filler, Foose wheels, Hooker side pipes/headers.

2022 C3 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
1970 LT-1, owned since 1976. Pretty much stock but for wheels and side exhaust. Been cross country, 8000 miles in 1977. I had first date with my long-suffering wife in 1978. (She was not impressed.)

2020 C3 of the Year Finalist - Modified
How does one determine which category to enter in? I have a bit of both appearance and performance.
1979, 80-82 front and rear bumpers, L88 hood. Crossover appearance/performance modifications can include, sidepipes, wildwood brakes, 18x10 Cosmis wheels, LS3/525 w/4L70E swap (it does look cool with the hood open).
