I'm doing some restoration work on my '69. Can anyone recommend one of the several assembly manuals? I see a few on Amazon and eBay, Looking for clarity of diagrams and/or photos.
I suspect there is only one version, with multiple companies marketing the same version. I think you will end up with the same manual whomever you buy it from.

The paper one I got from Mid America was legible however some of the pages were copied crooked. The PDF one from Wilcox is a bit blurry in places but you can search for stuff. I use them both at times.
You want to get a copy of the 1969 Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM). This is the internal document used by the Corvette final assembly line to detail proper order and method of installing components and sub-assemblies to the vehicle. Many aftermarket Corvette parts suppliers sell a "copied" version of this document. No source still has the original.
You could buy one from e-bay, etc, but you could never be sure of the condition of the pages or if some of them were missing. Some suppliers have converted this document to a 'searchable' CD-ROM version, which can be nice to have. It can simplify searching for specific items/parts. It can also allow you to print clean "work" pages you might want for reference when you actually work on the car. Those you can get oily/dirty and throw away when you are done. But the paper version is easiest to refer to when sitting in your easy chair at home (IMO).
I bought "71 manual a few years ago. Copied (poorly) and loose leaf. Maybe you can blame GM for this, but the index table of contents are useless.
I found I was digging thru sections and getting them all mixed up. And, when I did find the right page it was of little help.
Thanks to forums like this (especially this one) and UTUBE, I can find all my answers on the net.
I have a 68 BB and I purchased the AIM. Same story ok but blurry pages offer little help.
I got most of my good info from the actual GM shop manual set still avail in reprint.
I got the chassis overhaul and repair as a set. So far these have been accurate.

Yeah, I'm about to reassemble my '68 after paint and dug out my manuals and it's comical how bad the legibility. It's a Mid-America copy w/ blurry, crooked pages. Reassembly w/ poor diagram legibility will be a challenge since I was not the one who disassembled car.
